Anthem of the Carnival of Santoña

From the birds of the sky
To the fish of the sea They come
to the shore
With merriment and joy
As Christmas passes

Because from parents to children you have
always heard comment
That in the months of February
Even if it snows or there is thunder
in Santoña it is carnival

long live the rumbera people long
live grace and salt
which are things that are left over here (bis)
when carnival arrives
because in color and joy (bis)
Santoña has no equal.

 Carnival in Santoña
is not easy to imagine
because with art and salt shakers
from the oldest to the smallest
 they come to dress up

 the sublime is the parade
with its unparalleled beauty
and the burial of the bream
with the witnesses of mourning
is to see and not tell

long live the rumbera people long
live grace and salt
which are things that are left over here (bis)
when carnival arrives
because in color and joy (bis)
Santoña has no equal.
