Seventeen murgas have registered to take part in the Murga Contest of the 2026 Santoña Carnival. In the adult category, there will be 12 participating groups, while in the children’s category, 5 murgas will take part in the children’s showcase.
The registration period for the contest ended on Sunday, November 30. In the adult category, 12 murgas were registered. This year marks the return of the group “Las Santas”, who come back after a year without participating, and the withdrawal of the groups “Por fin juntos” and “Las Kary’s”.

The contest will begin on January 30 and will run until February 12, concluding with the Grand Final.

The children’s murga presentation will take place next Sunday, February 8, and the Grand Final will be held on Friday, February 13, during the Children’s Day of the Carnival.
